Dear MDRC Member:
Due to extenuating
circumstances, we are running a little behind with our January newsletter and
the yearly club schedule of events. However, we are currently making every
effort to catch up with the club business for this year but first, let me
summarize the activities since our last newsletter.
The club members
along with members of the Board of Directors have:
- Completed a general clean up of the
grounds that include tree trimming, grass cutting and brush/tree cutting
downrange along the stream.
- Completed the painting of the indoor
range including the classroom and the back of the building.
- Hauled several truck loads of junk from
in and around the indoor range and the indoor range is now as secure as we
can get it. All windows have been blocked and extra security measures were
implemented to help insure the security of the building.
- Hauled away the majority of the garbage
pile from downrange.
- Additional area was added to our drain
field in accordance with State Health Department, our permit was approved
and the ground was tilled and leveled.
- The board has recently approved a letter
to all current Stockholders and developed a Stockholders Agreement for all
new Stockholders. The intent of the Stockholders Agreement is two fold;
first, it is intended to provide the stockholder with a definition of
requirements and responsibilities as an MDRC Stockholder; Secondly, it is
intended to further provide a mechanism to protect, track, re-purchase and
allocate MDRC Stock with the discretion of the board, as well as protect
the future of MDRC Incorporated as a viable entity. All current MDRC board
members have signed this agreement.
All in all, we had
another great year with the help and support of the membership during the work
details. Special thanks goes out to Raymond Frere for donating a lawn mower and
weed eater to the club as well as Bob Steele for bringing his tractor out for
tilling and heavy moving. Thanks to both of you for your effort. Also, MDRC
would like to welcome Keith Morris and Mike Bell from the WVU School of
Forensic Science to our membership. Last year, the school conducted an on-site
forensic investigation with their class and several of the instructors decided
to join the club as a result of the club’s cooperation with the school. This
year, the school is planning at least two on-site investigations, which we will
include in our clubs schedule of events for this year. If you are interested,
as a club member you are welcome to come out and watch, as it is a learning
experience for everyone.
If you have been
out to the range, you can see that we have started another range project in
accordance with our seven-year plan. The project was started the week before
Thanksgiving but bad weather has set in and the project is on hold until Mother
Nature cooperates with us. This range project will include raising and
extending the two 100 yard impact berms, adding another IDPA bay and raising
the IDPA impact berms. The dirt that will be used will come from the hillside
directly to the left of the existing 200-yard impact berm. When the dirt is
removed, we will have created another impact berm, which will allow a level
shot out to 200 yards from the Bench-House. The work will also implement
additional drainage features to help with run-off and subsequent erosion.
However, it maybe a little messy and sloppy around the range until the work is
completed but we are dedicated to completing the work for range safety and
further improvements. Again, all-in-all, things are progressing quite well
albeit a little behind schedule but our goal is to complete all the range work
this year so we can move onto to the next project which will be building a
clubhouse.
On Saturday,
January 21st the Board of Directors approved the following
dates for membership renewal and the annual dinner. The dates are as follows:
THE FIRST MDRC MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL MEETING WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2006 FROM 3:00 PM UNTIL 6:00 PM AT THE MDRC RANGE.
THE SECOND MDRC
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL MEETING WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, MARCH 11, 2006 FROM 4:00 PM
UNTIL 5:00 PM AT THE WOLF’S FAMILY RESTURANT ON ROUTE 7 IN DELLSLOW.
THE MDRC ANUUAL
DINNER WILL BE HELD ON SAUTRDAY, MARCH 11, 2006 FROM 5:00 PM UNTIL 6:30 PM. THE
ANNUAL STOCKHOLDERS MEETING WILL BE HELD IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DINNER FOR ALL
MDRC STOCKHOLDERS. (SEE ATTACHED FORM FOR RESERVATIONS)
Our club schedule
for 2006 will be posted on the bulletin board behind the Bench-House and on our
website by Saturday, March 4, 2006. Thanks again for all your help and support
in the continuing effort to help our club reach it’s full potential.
