MDRC NEWS LETTER
Dear MDRC
Member:
As we close
the second quarter of club business for this year, we continue to move closer
to achieving our goals for the club with accomplishments completed in this
second period. These accomplishments include:
·
The
indoor range was pressure washed & prepped for painting as well as the back
exterior of the building. Painting should be completed by mid August.
·
The
board has initiated plans for completing the re-design of the impact berms for the two 100 yard impact areas, another 200 yard
impact area and the IDPA bunkers. Work is scheduled to start the last week of
October and be completed by the week of November 7 so mark your calendar
accordingly. This is a tentative schedule dependent upon equipment availability
and weather. Any changes in schedule will be posted on our bulletin board at
the range.
·
The
board is currently in the process of addressing issues regarding outstanding
stock in the Mason Dixon Rifle Club and we have approved new regulations
governing the sale, acceptance and continuation of stockholding members.
·
M.D.R.C will be sponsoring a Hunters Awareness
Program on Saturday, October 22nd from
· The board has approved a new style membership card for distribution next year.
There is still a great deal to do to reach our goals as a club but we continue, with your support, to stay on the path forward. As a board, we meet once a month and our goal is to show improvements or accomplishments from one board meeting to another. If we continue this effort, again, with your support, we will accomplish the goals that we have outlined in our seven-year plan and the club will be greatly improved for all members.
Once again, our shooting disciplines are doing very well and include, Hi-Power, Small-Bore, IDPA, Sporting Clays and our most recent addition, Muzzle-Loading Matches. Just to remind you of our match schedule, Hi-Power & Small-Bore meet every third Saturday; IDPA meets the First Saturday of the month; Sporting Clays meets the First Sunday of every month and the Muzzle-Loaders meet the third Sunday of every month. For more information on these events, go to our web site at www.mdrc-inc.com.
The club will have two days set
aside for general work details so if you have not completed your work
requirement so far, this will be an opportunity for you to get your time in.
The first work detail is scheduled for Saturday, September 24 starting at
· grass cutting so bring a weed eater or if you can, a lawn mower
· tree trimming, chains saw will be available
· painting, materials will be supplied
· general clean up of the range and buildings
Until next time, shoot safe, shoot straight and keep all rounds on club property!
Respectfully,
Lew Soccorsi,
President MDRC
