MDRC NEWSLETTER

January 2005

Dear MDRC Member:

I hope all of you and your families had a great holiday season and are looking forward to another season at MDRC. As we come to the end of another year, we are once again looking forward to the New Year of 2005 and the events that it will bring. Last year was very productive for the club with the accomplishments that we made or implemented. As usual, we still have several projects to complete and several more to initiate in 2005 but all thing said, it was a positive step forward for the club and everyone that I talk to also feels the same. However, there is still much to do and together, we will accomplish our goals.

In the last few years, we have implemented and initiated changes to our club and as I said before, this will continue for the next few years in conjunction with available funding. Change also has occurred in the way we do business regarding membership renewal, work details, our annual dinner and our scheduling of events. The reason for these changes is simply due to the fact that we are trying to achieve the most efficient method for addressing these issues for both our membership and our board. It will all come together and we asked that you be patient during the transition.

As for 2005, our shooting season will begin in April with Hi-Power, IDPA, Small-Bore and Sporting Clays. I have attached a summary schedule for all to review but please be advised that our web site will contain the schedule breakdown by month, day and time. We will have two membership renewal meetings this year. The first meeting will be held Saturday February 26, 2005 from 3:00pm until 6:00 p.m. at the MDRC classroom (weather permitting). The second meeting will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005 from 3:30pm until 5:00pm at the Wolf's Family Restaurant. (Please have proof of your NRA membership & please return the previous years keys for your membership renewal). We will be passing out new keys for the club entrance and the restroom at each of the meetings. Following the membership renewal on March 12, our annual dinner will begin at 5:00pm. All club members are welcome to attend the dinner from 5:00 until 6:00 when our annual stockholders meeting will be held. There is a reservation form for the dinner at the end of this newsletter and it would be greatly appreciated if you could fill out the application and send it in no later than Saturday, March 5, 2005 so we can have an accurate head count for dinner preparation.

As I said earlier, we have completed several projects, initiated several more and we will continue this process, which is exclusively dependent on adequate funding, until we have completed the provisions of the seven-year plan. This year our restroom will be opened to club members during our shooting season from April through October. The Health Department has permitted the facility and we will have everything completed for the Health Departments final inspection by the opening of the shooting season. The indoor range was also completed and will be used for instruction, training, special events and, if time and resources permit, we hope to establish a supervised, indoor range schedule for our members at some point in the future.

In conclusion, I would once again like to thank all the members that donated their time for the work details and the MDRC-BODs all of whom, once again, made last year a successful year for our club. We can only hope and strive to do our best in making this year equally successful as I am confident we will. I would also ask all our members to review the information on our bulletin board at the range regarding range rules and regulations, our club schedule and our BOD information. Additional club information can be found on our web site at www.mdrc-inc.com or if you would like to contact me, please feel free to do so at 864-2506. If there is anything that you want posted on the web site, just click on the web master's address and send him the info for posting approval. I look forward to seeing you at the membership renewal meetings and the annual dinner/stockholders meeting. Until then, shoot safe, shoot straight and keep all rounds on club property!

Respectfully,

Lew Soccorsi, President MDRC
